Percussion Instruments (Pre-Columbian)
9. Moceņo.This is a type of bass flute. Air is blown into the smaller tube that is connected to the main body of this instrument. This produces a very deep and profound sound
10. Okarina. This wind instrument is made of clay and produces bird-like sounds.
11. Bombo or Wankara. A wooden drum with a top and bottom of llama or goat skin with fur. It is completed by leather thongs used for tuning and tightening the drum.
12. Rainstick. This is a hollow cactus filled with seeds and small stones. When tipped, it makes a sound like rain
13. Chakchas.These are made from llama or goat toenails stitched to a piece of woven cloth. They are shaken to produce their unique sound.
String Instruments (Post-Columbian)

14. Charango. This 10-stringed instrument is related to the Spanish guitar and the Venezuelan cuatro. The charango is distinctly Andean and was originally made with the shell of an armadillo. They are now made from wood and come in different sizes, including a miniature version called a hualaycho.
